09.09.2019 Results announced for 11th Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition

On 8th September, a press conference was held at the Kaliningrad Cathedral to announce the results of the 11th Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition. At the conference, the head of the jury, Christophe Mantoux, professor of the organ at the Pôle Supérieur and the Conservatoire Régional and titular organist at the Church of Saint-Séverin in Paris, recapitulated the competition results and named the winners as follows:

Diploma — Christian Gross (Germany)

Diploma — Oliver Brett (UK)

3rd prize, laureate title and special award “For Best Performance of Mikael Tariverdiev’s Works” — Andrew Morris (USA)

3rd prize, laureate title and special award “For Best Performance of Mikael Tariverdiev’s Works” — Vladimir Korolevsky (Russia)

2nd prize and laureate title — Lilia Pechenkina (Russia)

1st prize and laureate title — Ivan Tatarinov (USA)

During the announcement, Christophe Mantoux noted the difficulty the jury had faced in choosing, owing to the high level of all participants.

On the evening of 8th September, the closing and awards ceremony of the 11th Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition was held at the Grand Hall of the Cathedral. Besides their titles and awards, all finalists received unique prizes in the form of invitations to play concerts at the most prestigious concert halls in Europe and the United States.
