07.09.2007 5 Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ competition is over!
On September, 7, 2007 the finale rounds was completed at Kaliningrad!
For three days the contestants had theirs auditions in the Concert Hall of Kaliningrad Philharmonic Society. Seven organist out of from the 17 contestants participated in the second round were selected by the Jury (President of Juty Professor Klemens Shnorr, Germany) for the final run.
The Jury decided that awards go to:
First Prize – Robert Horton (the USA)
Second prize was shared by Julia Yufereva (Russia) and Jens Amend (Germany)
The Third Prize was not awarded.
Two Diplomas went to Anna Karpenko (Russia) and Taras Baginetz (Ukrane)
Anna Karpenko got the most prestigious award for The Best Interpretation of Mikael Tariverdiev’s music
Special Prize Hope of Russia, instituted by Georgy Boos in 1999 was given to Kristina Rotaeva
All winners were also awarded Special and money prizes. The ceremony was held on September, 7 in Kaliningrad Philharmonic Society’ Concert Hall.
